Your Privacy Matters

Tuka is designed with privacy at its core. Recording, editing and export happen locally on your Mac. Your recordings and transcriptions stay on your device unless you choose to share them or use an optional cloud AI feature described below.

Data We Collect

• Account information (email) for license management
• Anonymous usage analytics (can be disabled)
• Crash reports to improve stability (optional)

Data We Don't Collect

• Your screen recordings
• Audio or transcriptions
• Files or documents on your computer
• Browsing history or app usage

The only exception is the text you send when you use an optional cloud AI feature, described below.

On-Device AI

Transcription, captions, OCR and the other built-in AI features run entirely on your device using embedded models. No audio, video, or text is sent to external servers for them.

Optional Cloud AI Features

Some optional AI features need more than your Mac can do on its own. They are off until you turn them on, and Tuka tells you what will be sent before you use them. When you do, Tuka sends only the text needed to answer your request, such as what you asked for and the names of the buttons and labels visible in the app you chose to capture, to Tuka's AI service, which may rely on trusted AI providers to process it. These features never upload your recordings, audio or files. Requests are linked to your license to prevent abuse, and we record usage counts and errors, not the content of your requests.

Third-Party Services

We use Stripe for payment processing. Their privacy policy applies to payment transactions. We do not store your payment details.
